Applied Improvisation

The Experience Lab has been using Applied Improvisation methodology in most of their programs since inception. Applied Improvisation is the process of taking techniques, concepts, ideas and playful activities from the world of improvisation then applying these to corporate life and the personal lives we all lead.

This training is not aimed at turning everyone into an actor - instead it allows particpant with experiences that are effective forms of experiential learning that inspires, educates, and develops behavioral change.

The Experience Lab uses techniques to develop business skills such as communication, collaboration, innovation, problem-solving and leadership. Through our Applied Improvisation workshops we develop a culture of growth mindset, build psychological safety, embrace authentic leadership and appreciate how to be more effective at what we do.

As Kat Koppett says in her book Training to Imagine: Practical Improvisational Theatre Techniques for Trainers and Managers to Enhance Creativity, Teamwork, Leadership and Learning:"improv is the gym. It’s a way to get reps, building valuable skills in a low-risk, effective way."
